Trinity College has an amazing history.  Queen Elizabeth I founded it as a Protestant response to Catholic Universities in Europe.Up until recently, if you were Catholic and you attended Trinity you would be excommunicated.  The main draw at Trinity is the Book of Kells, the oldest illuminated manuscript containing the four Gospels.  Celtic monks in the 800’s drew it.  The Book of Kells is kept in its own room, but is part of the library.  This photo is of the Library’s long room…you can see why it’s called that.  So. Many. Books.  But also?  So beautiful!
